Bali Charity Café and Shop, also known as Piduh Café, was established by the Yayasan Widya Guna Bali Foundation to support individuals with special needs. The café’s team includes individuals with Down Syndrome, intellectual disability, and cerebral palsy. It provides a safe and supportive place for locals with mental or physical disabilities to work, build pride, and find meaning in their lives. Most of the staff come from the Gianyar area near Ubud and have acquired valuable skills at the Widya Guna Bali school, enabling them to join the café team.

Why She Opened This Café
The café was opened in 2023 by Nyoman Sri Wahyuni, who also started the Widya Guna Foundation. After years of helping children and young people with disabilities, she noticed something sad. When school ended, many of them had nowhere to go. They felt lost and alone. Nyoman wanted to change that, so she opened this café.
So she built a café that helps young people move from school to work. It provides them with skills, financial means to earn a living, and the confidence to thrive.
The people who work at Piduh have different abilities. Some live with autism, others with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or other challenges. But here, they are not judged by what they can’t do. They are valued for what they can do.
They work as cashiers, servers, cooks, and even bartenders. Each job is taught in a simple way that they can understand. They use pictures, step-by-step guides, and clear instructions to help them learn and take pride in their work.

They smile with pride as they serve the food. They focus carefully while making drinks. Every task they do is filled with joy, and you can feel it just by watching them.
To them, it’s more than just a job. It’s a sign that they belong, that they’re strong and able, and that someone truly believes in them. You can feel that warm, positive energy the moment you sit down.

Real Meals, Real Skills, Real Love
The menu at Piduh is simple, but everything is made with love. You’ll find a variety of tasty local Balinese dishes, as well as some Western favorites, along with a selection of drinks and coffee to enjoy with your meal.
Everything is made fresh and served with care.
It might not be fancy, but that’s not what matters here. What matters is the feeling—the warmth, the honesty, the pride you see in every plate that comes out of the kitchen.

Here’s a Look at How They Work in the Café
When and Where to Go
Piduh Charity Café is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 2:45 PM. It’s tucked away on Jalan Yeh Pulu in Blahbatuh, Gianyar, just a short drive from Ubud. It’s off the main tourist path, but it’s absolutely worth the visit. In fact, the people who find it usually end up telling everyone they know.
It’s not just a café it’s a second chance and a new beginning. At Piduh, people with disabilities are not pitied. They are welcomed, respected, and supported. They get the help they need to learn and grow. They don’t need to be “fixed”—they just need a place where they are allowed to shine. This café gives them that safe and caring space to build confidence and show what they can really do.
