Former President Donald Trump shared an emotional message following the death of his close friend and wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan, on Thursday, July 24, at the age of 71.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote, “We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart.”

Trump shared that Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, delivered an “absolutely electric speech” at the Republican National Convention in July 2024. “It was one of the highlights of the entire week,” he said, praising Hogan’s energy and patriotism.

“He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive,” Trump continued in his heartfelt message. He also extended his condolences to Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, and his family, adding, “We give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”

Hogan and Trump shared a friendship that spanned over 35 years. Hogan himself spoke about their bond at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in October 2024, telling the crowd, “I’ve known that man for over 35 years, and he’s always been the biggest patriot, and he still is. No matter the odds, he always finds a way to win.”

Hogan had endorsed Trump at the RNC by dramatically ripping off his shirt in signature Hulkster style, revealing a Trump-Vance 2024 T-shirt underneath. His speech that day was met with cheers from thousands of supporters, reflecting his status not just as a wrestling icon but also as a prominent public figure in American pop culture and politics.

Fans remember him for his famous catchphrase, “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?” and his powerful persona that inspired millions.

Hogan passed away in Clearwater, Florida, after suffering cardiac arrest. His funeral is scheduled for Thursday, as family, friends, and fans prepare to say their final goodbyes to “The Immortal One.”
