California Governor Gavin Newsom says his recent trolling of President Donald Trump even surprised his own kids. Newsom, who is seen as a potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, shared his thoughts with MeidasTouch Network’s Adam Mockler.
“I know some people are offended by our all-caps parody of Trump, but I felt it was time to hold up a mirror to him,” Newsom explained. The governor’s playful online antics have gone viral, sparking reactions from fans and critics alike. Even his family couldn’t hide their reactions, with his kids reportedly saying, “Jesus, Dad…” in response to his bold political humour.
Gavin Newsom admitted his online trolling of Trump even shocked his kids. “I mean, this sort of craziness that’s going online… my kids are like, ‘Jesus, Dad, what the hell’s going on?’” said Newsom, who has four children aged 7 to 14. The California governor’s playful political posts have gone viral, leaving his family both surprised and amused by his bold humour.
Newsom says his Trump-mocking posts aren’t just for laughs—they have a purpose.
“The goal is to highlight what’s happening in this country,” he explained. “You’ve got the president acting like a child, while Fox’s chatbots endlessly repeat and weaponise his complaints, hurting vulnerable people and traumatising communities.”
He added that Democrats must respond firmly and with apparent conviction to counter these attacks.
Newsom urged everyone to take action now. “We need less judging and more courage,” he said. “Face this moment not just for ourselves, but for each other and for our country.”
