California governor hits back at Trump’s concrete garden and fancy dinner

California Governor Gavin Newsom is going after President Trump again. This time, he’s making fun of Trump’s new Rose Garden at the White House.

Newsom gave Trump’s garden a mean new name. He called it the “Predator Patio” on social media. The attack came after Trump held a big dinner there on Friday.

Governor Newsom takes a strong stand against social media

Newsom’s team posted on X: “Welcome to Predator Patio! Admission? Just prove you’re on the Epstein List!” They put up a photo of Trump talking to guests at the dinner.

Trump changed the Rose Garden from grass to stone. Many people say it now looks like his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Critics don’t like the new look.

But Newsom wasn’t done yet. He also went after House Speaker Mike Johnson, who came to the dinner.

“After ripping health care from 17 million Americans and cutting food stamps for kids, we’re glad Mike’ Marie Antoinette’ Johnson and his friends had time to party at the Predator Patio,” Newsom’s office wrote.

Johnson helped pass Trump’s big bill, which could result in 17 million Americans losing their health care. The bill also cuts $300 billion from food help programs over ten years.

The name Marie Antoinette is meant to be an insult. It originates from a French queen who lived in luxury while people suffered from poverty.

Economic problems are worsening, affecting jobs, prices, and overall financial stability

Newsom kept attacking with another post: “Our economy is going down, but don’t worry—the GOP is having Diet Cokes at their new club.”

The timing is bad for Trump. New job numbers show only 22,000 new jobs in August. That’s way less than the 75,000 people expected.

More people are now out of work as well. The jobless rate went up to 4.3 per cent. That’s the worst it’s been since December 2021.

Friday’s dinner was the first meeting of Trump’s “Rose Garden Club.” Vice President JD Vance came. So did Education Secretary Linda McMahon.

Trump told the group that the club is for “people who can bring peace and success to our country.” But critics say it’s just for wealthy Trump supporters.

The Rose Garden used to have grass and flowers. Now it’s mostly stone and looks like a fancy restaurant patio.

This isn’t the first time Newsom has gone after Trump. The California governor has been attacking Trump on social media for months.

Newsom calls himself “America’s favourite governor.” This makes fun of Trump calling himself “America’s favourite president.”

The two men have been fighting more since Trump sent Marines to Los Angeles in June. Newsom didn’t like that and started hitting back harder.

What people are saying

Some people love Newsom’s attacks on Trump. They think he’s standing up for what’s right. Other people think he’s being mean and childish.

The “Predator Patio” name has gotten a lot of attention. Some think it’s funny. Others say it’s not nice for a governor to talk like that.

Trump hasn’t responded to Newsom’s latest attacks yet. But knowing Trump, he probably will soon.

The fight between these two shows how divided American politics has become. Both sides keep attacking each other instead of working together.

What everyone thinks about this political fight. Should governors really speak so strongly about the president? It seems intense, but maybe it’s necessary to call out issues. What’s your take?
