Austrian chef Peter Lammer works at the restaurant Johanneskeller im Priesterhaus in Salzburg, Austria. On August 20, 2024, he was back in his kitchen doing what he loves most, after a long and difficult journey.

In 2010, Peter was in a serious motorcycle accident. After many surgeries and years of rehabilitation, doctors told him he should retire. It seemed like his dream job as a chef was over.

But Peter didn’t give up.
With the help of his friend, Bernhard Tichy, an amateur metalworker, they created a smart and simple solution. They designed a special C-shaped metal bracket with an adjustable seat. It attaches to rails on the ceiling and allows Peter to “float” across the kitchen. He can turn, slide, and move easily from one workstation to another, even without standing.

Now, thanks to this unique invention, Peter is back in the kitchen cooking, smiling, and inspiring others with his determination.
His story proves that with creativity, support, and a strong will, even the biggest challenges can be overcome.
